OK, friends, remember how the striped shirt I pieced together from fabric remnants earlier this week looked like it needed a blue stripe down the front -- to me, anyway?
Voila!

Doesn't that look better? I cut a blue stripe off the front right facing and topstitched it onto the left front button placket. (NOTE: The original blue stripe is hidden in the tuck that I had to make to form the front left placket. That's why you saw two brown stripes next to each other in the top photo, which looked wonky.)

The blue edge is the selvage. |

Next, I pieced together enough fabric to make a collar band.

Finally, I added buttonholes and cute vintage plastic buttons and hemmed the shirt.

And here's the finished garment:

Yet again, a shirt I've made looks better on

Meanwhile, I found a girl for Roy: a size 8 PGM residing in an East Village four-story walk-up. Only $60 (plus cab fare). I didn't tell you about the $200 size 6 Wolf deal I thought I had wrapped up last week but which got sold out from under me by a very inconsiderate Craigslist seller; I've let it go -- la la la.
I'm content and so is Roy. He loves to collapse her shoulders.

Baby got back. |

I hate to sound heteronormative, but don't you think they look "right" together? (I admit to hoisting him up a few inches to avoid the Tom & Mimi-Nicole-Katie effect.)

OK, folks, we need a name. Ava? Esther? Lana?
I'm all ears!
