Readers, I've been very busy of late, but I did want to check in and keep you up to date.
I've been sewing up a storm. I am happy to report that my March Mood project is completed and photographed (yay, high 50's!). If all goes as planned it should debut on Monday. I just know you're going to love it -- and hate it. Hopefully more the former than the latter.
I may have mentioned that this month we were asked to pick a Spring/Summer 2014 runway look for inspiration. My look(s) included a lot of pattern mixing and a skirt. I don't know how it's going to play in Peoria, but today in Chelsea it got a whole bunch of stares. Just our luck, on our way out to take our photo shoot, the elevator was full of pubescent boys -- exactly the audience you want when you're in gender-discordant, avant-garde, Japanese-inspired attire. In truth, Michael and I giggled more than they did -- out of excruciating discomfort. It felt like a long ride.

In other news, this morning I was fortunate to be able to hang out for a few hours with lovely Lauren, who's visiting NYC this weekend. I wasn't able to participate in the big fabric-shopping meet-up held in her honor this afternoon (I had to rush home and make buttonholes), but I'm sure there will be plenty of posts about who bought what. I can hardly wait to read the guilty confessions.
I hope I'm not giving too much away when I say that Lauren's hair is now a vivid peacock blue. I love it.

I also got to see some other old friends and make some new ones too. I can't for the life of me figure out how it is that home sewers are so consistently nice -- I mean, really, have you ever met anyone who was a total be-atch? (If so, don't name names, please.) Maybe this is a topic for a future blog post.

Michael and I were both pooped this evening so we ordered pizza in. Why is pizza is so consistently delicious? It must have something to do with the combination of salty, sweet, and very greasy. Plus carbs. Yum!
Friends, it's time for a beauty bath and then I'm off to bed.
Have a great day, everybody! (And seriously, aren't sewers unusually nice?)
