Is May the prettiest month of all?

All the cherry trees are in full bloom this weekend -- a glorious sight to behold. We rented a car yesterday and drove out of the city with my mother for a change of scenery. Our friend Sharon joined us.

Even though we didn't get north of Sleepy Hollow, it really felt "away." The dogs had fun too!

Of course, no weekend would be complete without some fabulous flea market finds.
$1 silk scarves!

$2 vintage earrings...

Second-hand CD's!

$3 linen-blend shirting!

Ranking among the most disturbing things I've seen at the flea market ever was this unopened package from Baltimore's Metro Crematory. You too can end up for sale at the flea market! (Could this be legal?)

Also sighted: a Barbie board game and Princess Diana wedding doll.

In other news, today I made some practice buttonholes for my paisley shirt but will probably hold off until tomorrow to make the real ones as I'm still recovering from a potent Bloody Mary at brunch.

And that's it. Who knows what sewing surprises the coming week may bring?
What's the strangest thing you've ever seen for sale at a flea market?
Have a great day, everybody!
