Whatever Happened to....? Your Questions Answered!

Readers, life here at MPB Industries is such a whirlwind that, naturally, some plans fall by the wayside.

Rarely are these plans entirely forgotten, however.  They just get pushed back.  And back.  And back.

Today I'd like to update you on some projects I have mentioned in the past that never quite got completed.  Of course, if you have any other specific questions, please ask!

In no particular order....

Whatever happened to the blouse you were going to make for your mother?

Readers, I consider myself a dutiful son, but when it comes to sewing for my mother, I'm something of a deadbeat. Then again, let's not forget the psychedelic terrycloth robe I made her last year that she outright rejected!

Whatever happened to the leather newsboy cap you were making last winter?

I never finished it: the leather, upcycled from an old sofa, still felt too much like an old sofa.

Whatever happened to the Prada bag knock-off you found in the street last summer?

I gave the bag to Michael's sister Sara.

Whatever happened to baby Simplicity?

Simplicity is growing by leaps and bounds!  This summer she turns two -- can you believe it?  Here's a more recent pic.

Whatever happened to Butterick 9690, the vintage Sixties cocktail dress pattern (top pic).

It's all cut and has been hanging on my dress form since January.  Any day now, promise!

Whatever happened to the show Johanna filmed for Nippon TV about her sewing machine collection and when will she receive a DVD copy of the segment so she (and I) can see it?

Johanna has no idea -- presumably it aired in Japan.  Meanwhile she continues to push to get a copy of it, to no avail.

Whatever happened to your six yards of vinyl python fabric?

I have it in my stash and am still waiting for the perfect pattern for it.  Any suggestions?

Whatever happened to your beautiful hair?

Your guess is as good as mine.

In closing, friends, I hope that this information will lay your mind to rest and that you'll sleep better tonight as a result.  I do try to keep on top of things but you know how it is -- stuff happens!

Have a great day, everybody!
